Suzy Brown, the founder and principal of the school, has a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M.A. in Language and Literacy.  Mrs. Brown is a licensed teacher with 9 years of elementary teaching experience in the public school system in Texas, USA. She also worked for two years at the University of Texas as a student-teacher trainer, observing, evaluating, and advising teacher trainees, and ultimately deciding whether they were ready to graduate and receive a state teacher's license.  Mrs. Brown has been teaching English part-time for 18 years at Yamanashi Eiwa College in Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan.  While living in Japan, Mrs. Brown homeschooled her three boys using English curriculum. The oldest has completed his Ph.D and is an associate professor at Hosei University.   Another son completed his BA in a university in Texas and is currently teaching at New Life International School.

Christian Brown teaches full time in the intermediate grades and physical education to all grades.  He has a BA in Communications from Dallas Baptist University and has had over 11 years of teaching in Japan.  The students love him and he is a dedicated, gifted teacher.


Claudia Stadius is a trained, licensed teacher.  She teaches  K/1. She has a BS  in education and has over 14 years of experience teaching in Japan. She is a gifted teacher and we are blessed to have her with us.


Consultant for NLIS and pastor of New Life International Church, Danny Brown, has a B.A. in Religious Studies, an M.A. in Teaching E.S.L., and a Ph.D. in Foreign Language Education.  Dr. Brown has been a full-time English teacher at Yamanashi Eiwa College for 21 years.  Dr. and Mrs. Brown are married and work closely together in planning NLIS.


Japanese teachers are Kiyoyasu Kawaguchi and Tomoko Furuya.  Mr. Kawaguchi is a highly qualified and experienced teacher with over 30 years of college teaching.  Mrs. Furuya is also a highly qualified and experienced teacher with a master's degree.   We are very blessed to have such gifted teachers in our school! 


Aiko Veale is our accountant and secretary.  She is an experienced bookkeeper and teacher, as well.  She can answer any questions in Japanese, as needed.



We’re looking for a teacher to teach all subjects to a small combined 6th and 7th grade class Monday through Friday, and to teach grades 4 to 7 combined P.E. classes 2 times a week. This job begins from April 1, 2019. We teach approximately 185 days a year plus a week summer school with a bonus.

The teacher must be a native English speaker and a born-again Christian who regularly attends church. He or she must have a bachelor’s degree and certification to teach middle school from an English-speaking country, or hold a Master's degree. A strong ability to teach math and science is a plus.

Stephen Veale is our chaplain.  He teaches the children stories from the Bible.  He is an experienced teacher from New Zealand.
